Project Right Readiness

You have selected Workday to be your Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and are ready to start your transformation journey.

As a Programme Manager/Director, you aim to deliver within time, within budget and within scope.

SO HOW DO I PREPARE?

Every phase of the project has its own complexities and challenges. Often, it is the client's lack of proper preparation and inability to deliver forward-thinking project deliverables that makes (at least) one of the three Project Management aims creep, or the project will come with a lot of frustration and lower the go-live success rate.

PLAN:

  • Implementation strategy - country roll out / module roll out / big bang

  • Success criteria & benefits tracker - base point is PID

  • Decision structure - ownership and escalation points

ARCHITECT:

  • Statement Of Work - clear and complete

  • Resources - GPOs / Integration Owner / project team

  • Functional design - challenge the status quo

  • Reporting - management, statutory and regulatory reports

  • Data gathering - historical data / purging strategy / ongoing recruitment data

  • Integration design - deprecation plan / middleware

TEST:

  • Strategy - "all things normal"

  • Exit criteria - how much testing is enough?

DEPLOY:

  • Cutover plan - soft go-live & hard go-live

  • Data freeze strategy - acceptable downtime

  • Post go-live support model - who? how? when?
